Messaging channels

Messaging channels let your agents send SMS during conversations. They use send text message actions and dispatch through Telnyx.

Add a channelโ€‹

Open Integrations, click + Add integration โ†’ Messaging channel. The channel modal asks for a name and the SMS-capable phone number the channel should send from.

Phone numbers come from your workspace's connected phone number connectors โ€” you'll only see SMS-capable Telnyx numbers in the dropdown. If the list is empty, set up a Telnyx phone number connector first.

Edit a channelโ€‹

Click any messaging channel card on the Integrations page to reopen the same modal in edit mode. You can rename the channel or change the phone number; deleting is also available from the modal.

Use a channel from an agentโ€‹

Create a send text message action on the agent and pick the channel as the source. The channel determines which number the SMS is sent from; the agent decides what to send based on the conversation.
