Archive agent

Archiving an agent removes it from the agent list and stops it from handling new phone calls, without losing any of its history. It's the right choice for agents you no longer use but don't want to lose. Open your agent in Studio, go to Advanced, and use the Archive agent section at the bottom.

What happens when you archive an agent:

  • The agent is removed from the agent list and can no longer be used for new phone calls
  • Past conversations remain available in the conversation history
  • You can restore the agent at any time
info

Archiving is reversible. An archived agent is hidden rather than deleted, and you can bring it back whenever you need it.

Restoring an agent

On the agent list, turn on the Show archived toggle to reveal archived agents. Each one appears with an Archived chip. Click the Restore action on its row to return it to the active list.

Agents with a linked phone connector

You can't archive an agent while a phone connector is still linked to it, because incoming calls could otherwise still reach it. If the agent has a linked connector, the Archive agent button is disabled and a warning explains why. Unlink the connector on the phone connectors page first, then archive the agent.
